Wishu the social marketplace aimed at generation Z launches its App

Creative freelancers take note - this one's for you. Further development by Wishu, the social marketplace for creative freelancers with the launch of its iOS app
Good news for freelancers with Wishu, the social marketplace aimed at generation Z creative freelancers, having launched its app across the UK. It is the world’s first social marketplace app that allows transactions between creative freelancers and businesses or individuals in need of their services to be booked and paid for through the app. Creative freelancers can spend more time honing their creative skills, with the app taking care of time-consuming practicalities and allowing them to manage the administrative side of their work in a streamlined manner.
With so many Generation Z creatives increasingly turning to freelancing as their working mode of choice, Wishu enables these creative talents to build their portfolio, develop ongoing relationships with clients, attract requests and bookings, and apply for on-demand jobs posted near them.
The platform is also simple and easy to use for anyone wishing to book creative talents. They can select from thousands of curated talents and book them in a single click. On-demand requests can also be posted which creative freelancers can then apply to fulfil. This direct contact and flexibility means that the cost of hiring talent is much lower than through the more traditional agencies.
Co-founded by three young entrepreneurs - Lavena Xu, CEO, James Johnson, CTO and Hubert Trinkunas, Head of Community - Wishu now has a community of over 6,000 creative talents and has attracted a total investment of £450k to date.
Lavena Xu, Co-founder and CEO, said: “The upcoming generation of creatives are increasingly gravitating towards freelancing and a DIY model of building their careers. But they are not receiving the support they need - young creative talents are still spending too much time and energy on the day-to-day tasks of managing their work. Now there is a tool that does the heavy lifting for them in terms of finding work and getting paid.”
“And for those who are booking these freelancers, Wishu offers speed, convenience and security. With all user verification, reviews and payments handled through our system, we give companies and individuals peace of mind,” added Xu.
With current stats indicating that 162 million people across Europe and the US are freelancing or taking part in the gig economy and with Generation Z expected to represent 75% of the workforce by 2030, Wishu aims to provide a service that streamlines the business processes and tackles the pain points typical of that sector for the workforce of the future.
