ParkBee makes private parking a public affair

ParkBee
Most people who drive their car into a city centre, are faced with two major dilemmas. Firstly, parking spaces can be really really tough to find, and secondly when you find parking, it can literally cost an arm and a leg. Park that problem, here's a solution…

Dutch startup ParkBee, which launched in the UK last October, make private parking spaces (for example, at office buildings and hotels) available to the general public. Creating a win-win for both the building / parking space owners and the consumer, who gains affordable and top located parking availability, this is another fab example of how the shared economy could benefit both the supplier and the user.

Their innovative smart tech solution of a keyless, cloud-based system for entry and exit of a space, from one click of an app, creates parking opportunities which have ParkBeenever previously been possible.

Founded in Holland In 2013, Jian Jiang and Tom Buchmann conceived the idea for Parkbee after realising that there was (and still is) an opportunity to open up private car parks to the public. They were invited to join the ESA Incubation Centre and Tech Incubator YES!Delft to develop the smart technology that makes it possible to open car park barriers through a cloud based platform.

After a highly successful first year in the Netherlands, ParkBee opened a new office in London in October 2016 to develop the UK market.

We look forward to hearing more about ParkBee over the coming months and finding out if they are on the road to success in the UK too. (Watch their explainer video below for more info).
