In terms of startup events, 2015 in the UKUK Startup Events 2016 was perhaps the most jam-packed and diverse year to date, and we expect that 2016 will only set the bar even higher!


We have had the pleasure of taking part in a broad spectrum of events and are looking forward to being just as involved in this coming year.


Here are some of the 2016 UK Startup events that we are most looking forward to in 2016.  It’s not a definitive list by any means, so if you know of an event that we ought to include, please email our Head of Content, Eoin (eoin@startacus.net) and he will get back to you.

Bett Show 2016

The World’s largest event exploring and showcasing all the latest innovations in EdTech.


February


3rd - 4th

Learning Technologies 2016

This huge conference is of particular interest to the world of enterprise because it focuses on technology used to support learning at work.

Student Enterprise Conference

The National Association of College and University Entrepreneurs (NACUE) is the annual host of this conference which places young entrepreneurs from around the UK at the heart of proceedings.  Like all years, the focus will be on inspiration, discovery, networking and practical workshops, as enterprising students gather for the biggest event of its kind in Europe.


22nd - 26th

Social Media Week

The first of this year’s Social Media Week events is taking place in February.  As always it will celebrate and progress the impacts that social media has on all of our lives, and with a plethora of events taking place across the Globe, it will be the perfect time to explore what social media means for your business.  


29th February - 1st March

Gartner Business Intelligence and Analytics Summit

A must see event for startups who are heavily involved in business intelligence or data, or any business that wants to find more about how it can benefit from these trends.

7th - 11th

QCon London

This annual international software development conference aims to inspire and empower future software development by assisting the spread of knowledge, skills, ideas, and innovations within the developer community.


14th - 15th

World Food Technology Summit

Now in its 15th year the World Food Technology Summit will hope to inspire and support the next generation of global food and drink innovation.


15th - 16th

The Wearable Technology Show

The 2016 event is expected to be the biggest yet, with the latest innovations in wearable technology, augmented reality, and IoT on display.


30th March - 2nd April

Future Everything Festival

Each year for the past 2 decades the Future Everything Festival has been putting some of the biggest issues facing human life on Earth under the microscope.  As always this year will pull people together to explore, share, and discuss new idea for our future.

11th April

Innovate Finance Global Summit

A global gathering of the startups, leaders, and organisations driving the future of fintech.

21st-22nd April
Business Rocks - Manchester
Think 'Web Summit' and you'll get an idea of the Business Rocks vibe - 3 Stages, World-Class Speakers, Tech Founders, Music, Investors, Developers, Journalists, Exhibitors, A Start-up Pitch, and after dark events. Going live in Manchester on the 21st and 22nd April with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak as their headline speaker, we expect big things from this inaugural event.

11th - 12th

Adobe Summit 2016

Transnational computer software company Adobe will once again host its world famous digital marketing conference, which is Europe’s largest of its kind!  As you would expect content in all of its forms will play a major role.  Certainly one not to be missed if your marketing has any level of online presence.


11th - 12th

Business Startup Show London

The business show specifically for startups and the self employed.  It is expected to pull in around 25,000 people over the course of two days.  It happens on the same days as the Adobe Summit so you’ll have to choose between the two.

One of most trendy events on the UK startup / technology circuit celebrating and showcasing technical, creative, and enterprising talent.

20th - 26th

London Technology Week

One of the capital’s most eagerly awaited large scale events, London Technology Week is an all encompassing examination and showcase of the best that the city, and indeed the World has to offer.  There will be a huge number of events taking place right across the week so make sure to keep up-to-date so you don’t miss out!


22nd

Digital DNA

Belfast’s rapidly growing expo of all thing tech, digital, and enterprise.  Last year the event played host to 75+ speakers, 16 workshops, and 12 Roadshows, with this year set to include even more in its new home at St George’s Market.  Expect to hear lots more about this one in the near future!

One of the World’s most well known technology and innovation conferences, it is widely celebrated for its global significance and is, according to The Economist ‘Where revolutionaries gather to plot the future’.

7th - 8th

Health and Care Innovation Expo

A must-see for anyone interested in MedTech or any number of related fields.  It is the biggest event in UK Healthcare and draws in a huge range of people working in the health and care industries.

19th - 20th

Apps World London

The World’s leading event bringing together the entire mobile app ecosystem.  Each year Startacus gives away a number Gold Level Passes, so be sure to look out for that closer to the time.

Made Festival 2016

The country's pioneering entrepreneurial event that has become one of the most important mainstays in the UK startup and enterprise calendar.  It is perhaps the most inclusive event on this list, catering for everyone from inventors and designers, to CEOs and hugely successful entrepreneurs.

Global Entrepreneurship Week

The world’s biggest celebration of entrepreneurship with a dizzying number of events taking place in all corners of the globe.

Small Business Saturday 2016

Every year before Christmas, Small Business Saturday makes a lasting impact on small businesses by reminding consumers of the important advantages of shopping local.  It is a major day in the UK enterprise calendar with over 75% of UK councils actively participating in the event.
