Young Platform - making crypto easy

Want to get into crypto but don't know where to begin? Step forward Young Platform, a fintech startup that's on a mission to help
There are more than 100 million cryptocurrency holders in the world. There are numerous different cryptocurrency ‘wallets’ and all kinds of technologies, platforms, and services popping up, and it can be overwhelming to start trying to get into and wrap your head around the blockchain or specifically cryptocurrency now.
If you were to try to go it alone, you would quite likely lose money and get confused and frustrated. We recently wrote about a startup working to teach children about cryptocurrency, but what’s out there for everyone else?
Based in Turin, Italy, fintech startup Young Platform is a self-styled ‘starter kit to buy Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies’. The aim of the platform is to simplify access into cryptocurrency through a range of products.
The startup aims to become a smart digital bank natively focused on new digital services, and as such works as a cryptocurrency wallet for any cryptocurrency you want to get started with, and provides somewhere to keep an eye on price fluctuations and buy when the price is right. Meanwhile, of great importance and value to the new and experienced alike is their Academy: a place where you can learn about cryptocurrency, how to get started investing in it, about blockchain itself, and a great many other topics around the subject.
And if you like getting things for free, the startup offers Stepdrop, an app that rewards you for being active and healthy. Every step you take throughout the day contributes to ‘Youngs’, which can then be exchanged for discounts on cryptocurrency buying and selling fees.
In June, Young Platform announced that it had raised €3.5 million in a Series A round led by Italian digital technologies VC United Ventures, and including Ithaca Investments, Accel Scout, and some angel investors.
Young Platform is working to improve compliance, working alongside regulators to help shape the evolution and consolidation of the cryptocurrency landscape in Italy, which makes it a pretty good bet when it comes to getting started in the potentially confusing and overwhelming world of cryptocurrency.
