Young Foodies launches Mighty Small, the supermarket of small brands

Young Foodies launches Mighty Small, a new online supermarket with community at its core, dedicated to small independent challenger brands.
Despite the taxing impact of COVID-19, many small FMCG businesses will see opportunity in pivoting to online to boost sales. But how do they find and sell to the consumer? Step foward Mighty Small, an ecommerce platform launched by Young Foodies, allowing challenger brands who don’t have an existing e-commerce operation or who want to

Young Foodies was founded in 2017 to bring the consumer industry into the 21st century. In the last couple of years they have created the UK’s largest community of innovative FMCG brands – simultaneously providing that community with services to enable them to grow and operate like their big business counterparts.
Theadora Alexander, co-founder of Young Foodies, explained:

The platform aims to offer challenger brands favourable commercial and operational terms, including quick payment terms, cost-effective storage options with full control over stock volumes, no product pitching or expensive marketing plans, no onboarding delays, and no minimum sale quantities.
Harnessing the power of community for collective gain, marketing of the website will be largely community-driven and referral-led using an affiliates scheme, including a donation to the Food Cycle charity for every basket purchased.
As a community, brands will be encouraged to leverage their collective millions of social media followers to promote the online proposition, with a friends and family discount and an affiliates programme, also on offer.
Having built the platform, Young Foodies will manage supply and facilitate all operations on brands’ behalf, from centralising shipping costs, simplifying fulfilment, and managing multiple supply chains. All picking, packing and delivery will be handled and paid for by Young Foodies.
The aim of Mighty Small is to actively educate and engage consumers in wider and more exciting product choices, innovative flavours and ingredient authenticity available to them online, with the added convenience of home delivery. Delivery services will launch in London with a nationwide rollout to follow.
