Young entrepreneurs offered up to £10k to help create environmental solutions

If you are aged 17-24, passionate about wanting a greener, healthier planet and have an idea of how digital tech could benefit the environment - then your luck is in. You could be applying for up to £10,000 from The Environment Now to bring your idea to life!
The Environment Now is an exciting new opportunity care of O2’s Think Big that will fund 17-24 years olds up to £10k to create their unique digital ideas to help the environment, such as improving energy efficiency, reducing waste, or recycling.
Managed by the National Youth Agency and now running for over a year, The Environment Now programme funds unique digital ideas to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste or increase recycling. Through their partner O2 they are also offering project leaders mentoring, work experience and insight sessions with industry professionals.
To apply for The Environment Now you need to:
- Be 17-24 years old
- Use digital technology to solve an environmental issue - this could include:
- The use of existing or new technologies and digital platforms
- Using digital research & data management
- Be based within the UK
- Be committed to completing the project within 10 months.
- Have a passion to inspire other young people.
The Environment Now has so far funded projects such as:
LettusGrow - a company on a mission to reduce food waste around the world through soil-free gardening.
Filamentive - a 3D printing filament business that needs money for experimentation, research and development into new recycled and recyclable materials.
Virtually There - an app that will contain different virtual reality experiences highlighting the impact of global warming, waste and deforestation.
Applications for funding are open until September 8th, followed by another round applications open until October 27th. Head straight to The Environment Now website to read the full criteria and apply for funding!

The Environment Now programme is funded by O2 and the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund, and is part of the Our Bright Future programme. It is managed by the National Youth Agency.
