WorkBuzz - employee engagement made easier

by Startacus Admin
The lowdown on Workbuzz, the startup that helps you gather real-time feedback, improve employee engagement and build a more inclusive culture.
As we have written many times over the past year, the pandemic has left a change in the work environment, with many companies and employees realising that working remotely can be beneficial to both staff and company. There are unique ways in which this remote work and sense of detachment can breed the more negative traits of workplace culture, however, so it is important to have ways that employees can provide feedback and the management can foster a more inclusive workplace environment as well as improving employee engagement.
Milton Keynes-based HR-tech startup WorkBuzz has created ‘HR’s secret weapon’ to give employees a voice, improve employee experience, and manage change better. The platform is multi-faceted, aimed at providing a way to take onboard multiple areas of employee life and to improve it all, whether those employees are work-from-home or office-based. This is done in large part through carefully crafted questionnaires and feedback forms so that employees can provide feedback on exactly how they feel, and what they see working and not working for them.
Stress and anxiety can be a significant factor in work, and WorkBuzz helps to track mental wellbeing so that support can be provided early on. Part of this is also the sense of connection that a company should be fostering in remote workers so that they don’t feel isolated and forgotten about, and the platform helps keep track of what works and doesn’t work in that area. Diversity and inclusion is analysed by the platform, taking a look at demographics within the company to identify any issues and ensure there are no barriers in place. Of course, all of these things and more can contribute to the retention of employees, and so WorkBuzz specifically looks at retention risks, and identifies the reasons that employees might be leaving or considering leaving, and what can be done to improve things on that front.
Management can customise the questions that the platform asks employees to really target company-specific issues and concerns, and to understand their particular workforce. The startup has its own experts who will help with this and with the employee feedback strategy as a whole, so that not only is the right and most helpful information coming back, but employees actually want to provide it.
In June, WorkBuzz announced that it had secured a £780,000 funding round led by Mercia and Foresight - via equity finance from the Midlands Engine Investment Fund - and including participation from private investors. This funding will go towards growing the team and adding additional functionality to the platform.
Incidentally, innovative employee engagement is going to be very much on the radar at our upcoming Work: In Progress event - we'd love you to join us!
