Wonderloop - The world’s first video profile platform

Wonderloop - The world’s first video profile platform...
Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Pinterest…here at Startacus we love ‘em all!
But (and it’s a pretty big but), the sheer volume of information that’s available about the people you connect with can actually make it very difficult to get a clear sense of what they are all about. That’s why we are very glad to see that in recent times there has been an effort by some to slim down weighty profiles, overstocked skills lists and epic saga bios to make our experience a little bit simpler.
Twitter really got the ball rolling with its minimalist approach to information sharing and Vine has very successfully pioneered the virtues (comical or otherwise) of snappy video clips and we are glad to announce that just last week a forward thinking company has launched a new app with the aim of simplifying and personalizing online introductions!
Wonderloop is available on the Apple appstore and comprises a community within which members create a short video introduction of 10-20 seconds outlining in a few sentences what their main intentions are. The process which has dubbed itself ‘The future of collaboration, hiring, investing and giving’ is designed in such a way that it mimics the manner in which face to face meetings happen in real life. It takes profile pictures to the next level and adds a personal touch and credibility to your profile which simply can’t be achieved by endless reams of text.
It’s an idea that was first conceived by founder Hanna Aase in response to her frustration at not being able to make meaningful connections with like-minded people in her small Norwegian village. Offput by the arguably frivolous and non-specific nature of other video platforms like Chatroulette, and the overwhelming clutter of some social networks, Hanna set about constructing the world’s first video profile platform with a strict ban on photos and lengthy bios… and so Wonderloop was born.
As a member you will be able to join and create networks, use hashtags and search for relevant users by location, name, industry and skills. It will also give you the added luxury of being able to ‘vet’ the people who try to connect with you before accepting their request Simple, straightforward and jolly clever!
For the time being, Wonderloop is by invitation only, but it should hopefully see a more general roll out in the not too distant future. We will be watching very closely to see if it lives up to the hype.
