Wonde wants to help schools keep data secure

by Startacus Admin
The EdTech solution to keeping school data secure! Wonde is a startup platform that allows schools to view and control their data as it is accessed by third-party apps...

The problem with this however is that school systems are not particularly secure, and are inefficient due to the manner in which 3rd party software plugs into the systems. Integrating this software is complicated and not necessarily a priority for the software’s developers. Technology isn’t going to become less important in schools going forward, so this needs to change.
Cambridge- (and Sydney-) based Wonde is taking on this issue with its go-between platform, and keeping everything safe between the school’s system and those 3rd party educational apps.
Students and teachers can login to everything they need with the normal email address and password, a ‘magic badge’ (QR code), or a pattern of emojis, and then they can continue as normal, safer than ever. And that safety is paramount to Wonde, as they are aiming to be the go-to service for schools’ data security in light of legislation such as GDPR and similar. As an addition to their automatic security, schools’ IT administrators have full access to turn off and on the amount and kind of data being shared with each app.
With its unique API, Wonde removes interoperability roadblocks by automating data integration between 3rd party apps and the school system. This vastly reduces the time and cost to developers of software integrations and accelerates distribution into schools. The startup is now partnered with Google Premier Education, meaning that Google’s G Suite for Education is fully integrated into the platform and is automatically kept in sync with the school’s data.
Wonde is already being used in over 14,000 schools across the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, totalling over 24 million students and teachers, and it’s easy to see why. Stop trying to remember dozens of passwords and combine them all into one safe, secure login to access everything you need for school? Well, in our day, we didn’t use passwords and floppies and data doodles for our paper books, but sure, it sounds very useful.
