Wellola

The lowdown on Wellola and their white-label SaaS platform that enables clinics to communicate with patients securely...

wellola logoRecently, we wrote about Arthronica, an SaaS medtech startup that wants to decrease the amount of face-to-face appointments arthritis patients have with their GPs while still receiving the same care and monitoring. Following on from that, we are looking at ways that patients can self-schedule their appointments, whether for an in-person or online appointment.

Dublin-based SaaS medtech startup Wellola has developed a white-label platform that allows this flexible, 24/7 self-scheduling, and packages it together with secure communications, ultimately allowing easier patient management, integrated video consultation with no third-party downloads, integrated payment and e-invoicing, and messaging, all in compliance with GDPR.

Modernising and streamlining the communication process between patient and care provider not only makes things more efficient, but eliminates miscommunication or even lost correspondence.

Wellola says that, as well as saving €1 on every piece of correspondence that no longer needs to be posted, they can save just under €100 on every appointment that their auto-reminder system prevents from being missed, as it not only does its primary job of reminding the patient but also increases the likelihood that they will actually make the effort to cancel or reschedule an appointment they can’t attend.

Outside of patient communication, clinicians can communicate with each other and share data, all securely and with GDPR compliance.

Wellola has been doing well with Enterprise Ireland, having first been awarded support from their Competitive Start Fund - which included 12 months in Dublin BIC’s Innovate accelerator programme at the Guinness Enterprise Centre - and now it is one of the 10 finalists heading to Paris in October for final of Women Who Tech’s health tech startup challenge (joining the aforementioned Arthonica).

We look forward to seeing the results of the final, and what comes next for Wellola and all of the other 9 startups.
