We're liking the sound of…
Rebel Book Club
The what? Rebel Book Club?
Yep, Rebel Book Club is much like you’d expect - it’s a book club, but with an application process to be approved to then attend. London based.
So why are you writing about it on Startacus?
Well the type of books they read range from books focused on creativity, motivation, business, entrepreneurship, happiness, wellbeing and innovation and the occasional biography too - the kinda stuff we like writing about here at Startacus HQ.
Why the devil do you need to apply?
Well, the key point here (as we see it) is that they are wanting a group of like-minded ish folk that come together and want to use the reading of books to start conversation, open-minded thinking, discussion and debate. How they approve applications and the criteria they use to say if you’re in or out - we are not sure, but as the books they read are focused on subjects such as creativity, entrepreneurship, innovation and wellbeing, one assumes that people with this type of interest, experience and mindset are welcomed.
Then what?
If your application is successful, for £15 a month, you receive amongst other things, a Rebel Ebook, access to their private Facebook accountability group and exclusive access to their secret London events (an inspiring venue and a custom RBC cocktail included).
We’ve only just heard about Rebel Book Club, but it does seem to have been around for a little while at least. Whilst we can’t tell for sure, we reckon this particular themed book club might have the legs to grow outside of London too (if they so wanted). The next chapter perhaps? :)
It speaks volumes that the pics they share on Twitter and Instagram show very well attended meetups, and we look forward to reading more about this book club with a difference as their ‘tribe’ perhaps grows further...
