WaterAid Springs Donation Innovation on Swimmers
Historically, innovations within the charity fundraising sector have been few and far between, and whilst the traditional donation box remains as popular as ever, some charities are pioneering more creative and engaging approaches to coaxing cash from the public.
WaterAid has found a way to intercept potential donors, at a time when they will be receptive to to their mission, and when making a donation will take the minimum of effort.
They have installed a device on the inside of paid swimming pool lockers, which engages swimmers emotionally at the end of their workout and gives them a simple choice to donate their pound to the WaterAid Charity.
The so-called ‘Hope Lockers’ have been created by advertising agency Proximity, and after a successful trial at the end of 2015, they are awaiting funding to introduce the funding across London.
