London startup Vidsy, a tech startup that helps brands create original & authentic mobile video ads has announced it has won Facebook’s Innovation Spotlight 'Creativity around Video' Award for 2017.
Launched in 2015, Vidsy designed a new video production model powered by technology and a network a video creators. The company, that focuses on snackable video
for social, has produced more than 3000 video ads for brands like Unilever, Barclays and even The Government. Vodafone's most recent campaign, to promote the Samsung S8, was produced by Vidsy as well.
Facebook’s Innovation Spotlight is Facebook's annual showcase for the year’s most exciting innovations across Facebook and Instagram. This year Spotlight is broken into three competitions that will run in succession, with the Video Category announced first.
Innovation spotlight winners get ad credits, will be profiled in Facebook videos and blog posts, and will be prominently featured at some of the industry’s largest events, like Cannes and dmexco.
it was only at the end of March that it was announced that Vidsy had raised £1.3m in funding, which included backing from the Guardian Media Group, so this latest win, gives further credit to their growing business acrumen.
Alex Morris, Vidsy's Co-Founder said: “We started Vidsy 2 years ago at University, with the vision of changing video advertising with a model that would work for everyone, from brands to agencies, creators to publishers. Being recognised by Facebook, the world's biggest authority on mobile video, is a massive honour and it shows how much our team, clients and creators have achieved in so little time.”
Vidsy's tech platform streamlines the video production process, removing the resource intensive operations of traditional models. Through Vidsy's platform brands can brief multiple video creators who will simultaneously produce videos around the brand brief. This enables a marketer to produce 5 to 20+ short-form original video ads for a campaign in just a matter of weeks.
Headquartered in London, Vidsy currently employs 15 people and is now preparing to expand to the US. Congrats to Vidsy and we look forward to hearing (and watching) more on their journey as they hopefully continue to scale...
