UPRISE Festival Dublin - Startups we liked the look of

by Startacus Admin
Last Thursday we attended the UPRISE Festival in Dublin - it was a good one-day event, with some excellent speakers and a
number of noteworthy startups showcasing in their exhibition area. As Startacus is all about the startups, we thought it would be fab to share word on a few of the startups that we had the pleasure of taking a look at. So in no particular order check out a few of the startups we spotted at the event below:
NB. There was loads of other good startups that were there, but these are just the ones that tickled our fancy on the day...
Flymble is a next generation travel financing platform. Book a flight for 1/10th upfront and spread the rest over time. Nice.
Bloo Vision is a binocular training system utilizing customized children’s games to treat lazy eye focusing on an age between 3 to 8 years old. Bloo Vision won the UPRISE pitch battle.
Trezeo (more on Trezeo on Startacus very soon) are focused delivering financial stability for self employed workers in the Gig economy. They were the recent winners of the @NDRC_hq Investor Day Autumn 2017.
uHerrd - An opinion poll platform for publications of all sizes - offering the opportunity for embedded opinion polls. Could be a good option for bloggers, journalists and media publications. We are going to try it out.
Pie is on a mission to revolutionise the fleet industry. Their software will provide end-to- end visibility of transport networks and workflow, reducing anxiety points within logistical operations.
Mitte - Smart water system that unites purification with enhancement, giving you personalized and healthy water right in your home. Currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter and they have (at time of publication) raised over €170k of €75,000 goal!
Lokalist a digital marketplace that enables buyers and sellers to instantly connect at their personal price points.
Also, not quite a startup but we liked the news that:
Irish telecoms firm Goldfish launched the Babelfish, Ireland’s first web-phone at UPRISE. It allows calls to be made directly from within a web-browser and is the first phone of its kind to be developed by an Irish company. High-5 team.
