Untangle helps rebuild life after loss

Untangle - The startup that's on a mission to help us all deal with grief
No matter how much we understand that death is a part of life, it still hits us hard every time. We never expect it and we’re never prepared for it. Some people are lucky enough to have friends and family that they can process their grief with in a healthy way. But not everyone has this kind of support system, and some people feel like a burden on other people who may also be grieving the same person’s death. There are a multitude of reasons why some of us may be isolated in our grieving and need outside assistance to help us work through it.
London-based startup Untangle was created by Emma and Emily after they discovered a lack of support that they themselves needed.
The startup helps you for the first year after a loss to put back together the pieces of your life and/or keep them together by providing tools, expert advice, and connecting you to like-minded communities.
The process is very simple and easy, which is important, because we all know how hard it can be to get our brains to function properly while grieving. It takes 3 steps: fill out a form to let the Untangle team know your story; receive an email from them to download the app; be matched to a private support group in which the Untangle team guides you and provides practical assistance.
Untangle will help not only with emotional support and advice for working through your grief, but also with the practical things that need to be done.
They will help ensure that you deal with all of the administrative steps and nothing is overlooked, such as closing bank and utilities accounts. They will do what they can to give you all the information about your loved one’s providers, when things are due, and all of the practical things it can be so physically difficult to think about. They even offer a personal assistant service, where they will inform organisations and close accounts, etc. for you, and take care of associated paperwork.
In June, Untangle was awarded with a grant from Innovate UK as a part of an initiative to support businesses tackling the impact of COVID-19. This grant will go a long way to helping an extremely valuable service to help more people get through one of the darkest and hardest parts of being human.
