Uniwheel Personal Electric Transport Launch
by Startacus Admin
We love it when new and exciting new urban innovations come on to the market! That’s why we very pleased that today, after years of development an exciting new form of personal transportation is being launched.
The team at Uniwheel have created the UK's first electric wheel transport device that is robust enough to carry a person, but that is also light enough for a person to carry. It has been designed by top consumer and automotive engineers with Formula One experience and allows users to zip around with the minimum of effort, with intelligent updates and real-time feedback about speed, distance and other such useful information. It has been completely designed and manufactured within the UK and is an exciting addition to what has become a burgeoning and cutting-edge industry within the country.
At the moment, electric transport devices are banned on public pavements in the UK, but with high profile figures including Boris Johnson now pushing for a rethink of these archaic laws, we might soon have the situation where urban landscapes become more accommodating to 21st-century modes of transport.
This evening (9th December) UniWheel will be launched at Shoreditch Studios in London, and ticket holders will have the opportunity to meet the team behind the invention and be some of the first people to try out the first unicycle style electric transport created in the capital. The team will also be holding a social media competition in which a number of limited edition models will be given away!
The launch of Uniwheel feeds into a growing movement of startups which are finding innovative ways to tackle some of the biggest problems faced by people living in large urban areas, of which access to clean and convenient transport is certainly one of the greatest!
