Applications still open for The Debut Sessions Christmas Pitch comp with the opportunity to win a Term Sheet for a £100,000 SEIS investment
If you’re a recently formed UK startup, take note, you’ve only got a few more days to apply for this fab comp. The Debut Sessions is hosting a LIVE Christmas Pitch Competition, via virtual events platform, Hopin, on the 15th December, 10am-1pm.
The event will include 4 companies pitching to the Debut Sessions Investors, as well as multiple interactive Session Rooms, including a ‘How to Pitch’ and ‘Term Sheet’ masterclass and the good news is that it’s open to the entire tech community to attend.
The Debut Sessions Investors are an impressive group including Check Warner, Partner @ Ada Ventures, Carmen Rico, Partner @ Blossom Capital & The Fund, Kieran Hill, Partner @ Ascension, Gabbi Cahane, Angel Investor & Founder, Finn Murphy, Principal @ Frontline Ventures, June Angelides MBE, Investor @ Samos & Leila Zegna, Partner @ Kindred Capital & Harry Briggs, Partner @ Omers Ventures.
To apply for the Pitch competition, your startup must meet the following criteria:
-
have a UK registered office and have been formed within the last 18 months
-
aim to raise up to a maximum of £750,000
-
have raised less than £100,000 to date
-
be focused on building the next generation of platforms and products improving work, life and health
All entries must be in by the closing date of 8th December. 3 of the 4 companies selected to pitch will be chosen by the Debut Sessions Team and the fourth (the Community Choice) will be chosen by you!
To compete for the Community Choice place, when an application is submitted and ‘opt in’ is selected, it will be automatically published on the Debut Sessions Twitter & Linkedin handles with the following details - Company URL, Company Twitter / Linkedin handle, a 1 line summary and a link to Deck (hosted on Airtable).
Once it’s been published on Twitter / Linkedin, there will be a points system ranking the applications with 1 like on Twitter = 1 vote & 1 retweet = 2 votes, and 1 like on LinkedIn = 1 vote & 1 share = 2 votes. The total points that each company receives will then be counted and the top 4 entered into a Poll (hosted on the Debut Session Linkedin / Twitter) on Monday 7th December, with the Poll closing on Friday 11th December, 10am.
The Community Choice winner will then be announced on Friday 11th December, 2pm and the Debut Sessions' Choice finalists will be announced that same day.
The winner of the overall pitch competition will receive a Term Sheet from Ascension Ventures for a £100,000 SEIS investment.
A fantastic prize and a great opportunity for any early stage startup! Best of luck to all who apply!
