Turtle Pack powers ahead with it's swimming aid for kids

by Startacus Admin

Turtle Pack is an innovative swimming aid that aim's to change the way kids aged 3-6 learn to swim. We found out more about this innovative Livingston-based startup.
Turtle Pack is an innovative swimming aid that will change the way kids aged 3-6 learn to swim. Comprising of a high-quality neoprene vest and three removable foam shells, Turtle Pack has been designed by swimming experts to ensure that children are kept in the correct horizontal body position in the water – without compromising on comfort or safety.
Thier design allows kids to learn swimming strokes correctly and efficiently, whilst the vest design keeps their arms free in the water. As the child’s confidence & coordination improves in the water the buoyancy can be easily reduced by removing segments of the shell. The shells, once removed, can also be used as floats, kickboards or for in-pool games.
Offering their innovative, patent-pending swimming aid and a range of accessories, Turtle Pack aims to change the way that parents and children view learning to swim. In development since 2017, the Livingston-based swimming startup last week launched it's online store, with the website’s launch marking a key milestone for the company.
Founder and CEO Michael Harkins said; “I came up with the original idea for Turtle Pack on a bit of paper in my bedroom, so it’s quite surreal to see the website launched and our online shop open for orders. To see Turtle Packs being shipped off to Europe, Australia and the United States is incredibly rewarding.”
Having previously won a number of high-profile business awards and a personal endorsement from Sir Richard Branson (whose grandchildren have their own Turtle Packs for use on Necker Island), the company has recently grown in size and has global ambitions.
Turtle Pack has also introduced the character of “Tiki the Turtle” as means by which to educate and encourage children in their swimming journey. Tiki’s first adventure “Tiki the Turtle and the Biggest Splash of All!”, written by Michael Harkins, is also available to purchase in the company’s online store.
Michael continued; “Learning to swim should be fun for both kids and parents, but for a lot of people it’s simply not. My vision was to put the fun back into lessons whilst retaining all the best practice I’d learned in my time as a swimming teacher."
