Trim-It - the mobile barbershop and app

Trim-It - Haircuts at home thanks to this innovative startup and its booking app

Particularly for busy people, a short lunch break might be the only chance you get to to the barber, at which point you may find yourself queuing behind all the others with the same idea. While barbers aren’t known for having queues out the door, any time wasted waiting for a haircut is time you could be fuelling up for the next half of the workday. ‘If only the barber would come to me,’ you have probably never dared to dream!
Well now you can dare, because London-based startup Trim-It will come to your door with scissors. But in a good way. The mobile barber service is the first of its kind in the UK and will go anywhere in London to deliver a high quality cut to your hair. Booking is done via their app or even WhatsApp. The service was booked solid for the last 4 months of 2018, and the van is just the first of a goal of 200.
Trim-It is partnered with Pukket - a startup we featured back in July - to reward social media users who help spread the word and elevate the brand. Trim-It is going strong after almost having to shut down. In fact, founder Darren Tenkorang says that they only raised the funding they needed - a total of £225,000 - 7 days before he gave up. Now, they are looking for new barbers for their expanding fleet. Kudos to Darren and the team.
We look forward to seeing the new Trim-It vans popping up and to seeing what other cities they expand to and they go from strength to strength, because this is one startup concept that we reckon could be a cut above many of the rest...
