Top 5 Online Survey Tools

by Startacus Admin
An integral part of any business plan is of course the Market Research. Before you can really move on with your concept or idea, it’s essential to undertake sufficient research so that you can get a real insight into your target market. There are several ways of doing this research - from doing vox pops in the street through to creating focus groups. One of the most efficient and accurate ways of undertaking such research these days is by using an online survey tool. But which one should you use? To save you a little time, we’ve done the research and selected our Top 5 Online Survey Tools.
Google Forms
One of the most basic yet still pretty effective ways of undertaking a survey is by availing of the Google Forms facility. Surveys can be created easily and respondents can be invited to participate via email. All responses given are collected in an online spreadsheet and the data provided can be easily analysed. The best thing about this? It’s all free! What’s not to like about that!
Surveymonkey
When a tool is used by organisations of the size of Samsung and Facebook, you know it’s bound to be a good one! However, don’t think that having clients of that calibre means that Surveymonkey would not be suitable for you and your startup, because it would. There are 4 options to choose - from the Free plan which allows users to create surveys with up to 10 questions and 100 responses per survey through to the Platinum version which allows unlimited questions and responses; however you would be paying the princely sum of £779 per annum for the privilege! Your survey data can be collected via email, Facebook, a weblink or even embedded on your own website or blog.
Polldaddy
Polldaddy is another of the most popular tools which again offers options for a host of user types - from individuals and startups through to large corporate clients. The free Polldaddy account will allow you to create surveys with up to 10 questions and 200 responses per month. Surveys, polls and quizzes can all be created and if you have an iOS device, you can gather the data anywhere thanks to the Polldaddy app.
Survey Expression
Despite being one of the newest Survey tools on the market, Survey Expression is already garnering some great publicity and becoming a real force to be reckoned with. The free version allows users the option to create unlimited surveys with unlimited questions and to gather 200 responses per survey. Pretty impressive stats there! Data reporting and analysis is straightforward and for a free tool, this is probably the best one to go for.
eSurveyPro
Again, this tool offers a range of account options for every type of user - from the free account through to the dedicated account which costs $2400 per year! We reckon the former option is the one that would most interest most of you guys! This free option allows users to create an unlimited number of surveys, with unlimited questions and even better than that, unlimited responses! Data gathered can be easily analysed and for sheer value alone, this is a pretty impressive tool.
We’d like to hear your thoughts though, if you’ve used any of these. Why not let us know over at the forum...
