Through candid conversation, a new Investor Series podcast aims to provide a unique understanding and insight into the minds of some of the UK’s most experienced startup investors.
Raising capital as an early stage startup can be extremely challenging but also quite straightforward if you know exactly how to approach a potential investor. That’s the ethos behind the Investor Series.
Through candid conversation, this new podcast, co-produced by London-based digital startup studio Activate and business impact marketing agency T/F/D, aims to provide a unique understanding and insight into the minds of some of the UK’s most experienced startup investors.
From Lumaca Capital Director David Battey (who’s podcast you can listen to here) to Chairman, Director & Board Advisor Margaret Rice-Jones, each interviewee shares thoughts on their professional journey, lessons learnt along the way, their proudest achievements as well as biggest regret.
“Our ultimate goal is to help founders and entrepreneurs get their business investor-ready, but also encourage new investors to make smarter decisions when looking into the startup space, ” says Stephanie Forrest, Founder and CEO of T/F/D and co-host of the Investor Series. “In every interview we ask the questions that are front of mind for both these groups and later on make this information available in short videos focused on specific topics such as top tips for startups.”
“Over the years we’ve had the chance and privilege of working with some extremely talented entrepreneurs and are aware of the many challenges when it comes to raising capital,” says Paolo Valdemarin, Partner at Activate and also co-host of the series. “The Investor Series is a step in the right direction towards providing startups with the insights they need to achieve that initial cash flow that will see them through to the next business level.”
The UK investors interviewed on the first season of the Investor Series are:
- Bruce Beckloff, Co-Founder and CEO of Bloc Ventures
- David Battey, Director at Lumaca Capital
- Greg Rice, Founder of Activate
- Ivailo Jordanov, Venture Partner at 7pc
- Margaret Rice-Jones, Chairman, Director & Board Advisor
The Investor Series podcast, which has launched this week with David Battey, is co-produced by London-based digital startup studio Activate and business impact marketing agency T/F/D, with a new episode available every two weeks on www.investor-series.com and highlight videos uploaded onto the Investor Series YouTube Channel.
