The World’s Teeniest, Tiniest Phone

by Startacus Admin
We all know that technology is getting smaller and smaller, but Leeds-based toy and gadget retailer Clubit has teamed up with Bradford mobile phone manufacturer Zanco to bypass several generations of miniaturisation and go straight to the Zanco tiny t1.
The tiny t1 is 46.7mm in length and boasts an impressive(ly small) 12.5mm OLED screen. It is specifically for texts and calls, with an ability to store 300 numbers, 50 texts, and 50 incoming and outgoing calls. The balance of teeny-tinyness and simplicity of function mean that the battery can last up to three days or three hours talk time before it is necessary to recharge with the micro USB. It also features 13 voice changers, which we can only assume means you can talk like Batman to loved ones or arrange ransom drops with impunity.
Although the tiny t1 could be considered more of a novelty gadget, its size and portability mean that it could quite genuinely be useful as an emergency phone for people such as joggersor spies, for whom a full sized phone might be too cumbersome or heavy and other smart communication gadgets, like an Apple Watch, might be too expensive.
On December 14, they launched a Kickstarter to bring the tiny t1 to market. At the time of writing - the very next day - the Kickstarter has 162 backers and has reached over £7000 of its £25,000 goal.
As stated on the Kickstarter page itself, there are some things to consider before backing. Because of its size, the tiny t1 can only works on the 2G network, which is no longer available in some countries. This also means that your nano sim will need to support 2G.
Still, if nothing else, the Zanco tiny t1 could make a fun and relatively inexpensive Christmas present for gadget lovers. (well at least next year when it is hopefully fully out in the marketplace.) Novelty gadget or emergency phone - can the Zanco tiny t1 be both?
