by Startacus Admin
There is a plethora of benefits to starting your own business. Whether it be seeing your ideas come to life or the thrill of becoming your own boss, there is a great amount of satisfaction in starting up your own business.
Entrepreneurial spirit in the UK is flourishing so if you’ve always dreamed of starting your own business, what better time than now? The UK is seen as one of the top countries to start a business, but some UK cities offer a better chance of success than others. If you’re ready to take the plunge and start your own startup business in the UK, here are some of the top UK locations worth considering.
London
For budding entrepreneurs, London might seem like the obvious choice when it comes to business. The capital is a leading global city, with plenty of talent and diversity amongst its vast population and thriving tech, media and tourism sectors. Not to mention, London is the gateway to Europe, making it the perfect location for start ups with international expansion on their minds.
The multiple boroughs of London mean there is a place for any business no matter the sector or idea. For example, Croydon is fast becoming the home for tech and creative businesses. The inspiring environment of London also offers plenty of networks, hubs and support for small businesses to grow.
Brighton & Hove
If the hustle and bustle of London doesn’t suit your style, then the seaside coast of Brighton & Hove could be the right place for your business to set up shop. Often referred to as London-by-the-sea, the city offers the metropolitan lifestyle but with all the stress-free benefits of living by the sea.
The city is known for its vibrant, quirky atmosphere that has led to the development of a thriving startup scene. Brighton was even ranked as the best place in the UK to start a small business in a recent study by Informi. With 453 businesses per 10,000 population, strong digital connectivity and access to a skilled workforce, this would suggest Brighton is the place to be for small businesses looking to capture an audience and grow.
Manchester
For any SMEs operating in the tech, creative or media sectors, then Manchester is the place to be. With a growing technology hub and an ecosystem of both smaller and larger businesses, Manchester provides the perfect entrepreneurial vibe for startups.
In addition to its excellent transport links, Manchester boasts of strong digital connectivity. Full network connectivity is made possible with resilient dark fibre rings and P2P Ethernet available throughout Manchester. The city offers all the networking and IT resources an SME to succeed globally.
Glasgow
Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow, is fast becoming the place to be for startups and small businesses. After undergoing major regeneration and investment, Glasgow has become an attractive location for tech startups, says Startups.co.uk.
Low cost of living, transport links to other major UK cities and high quality of life are just some of the reasons why Glasgow is a top location for startups. The city also offers access to grants and funding through West Scotland Loan Fund, the Glasgow New Business Fund and Glasgow Council, reports Startups.co.uk.
