The Soundtrack to Your Startup Journey

by Startacus Admin
In keeping with our recent efforts to dial up the funny factor on Startacus we’ve created a hypothetical record label ‘Startachord’ to create an album which would best describe the rollercoaster journey of starting your own business!
The resulting mish-mash mix-tape is the product of hours of lively debate in the Startacus office, which was regrettably coupled with several equally lively (and painful) impromptu performances. Finally after much soul-searching, and indeed ear-bleeding, we’ve come to a consensus. I give you our debut release... the Soundtrack to Your Startup Journey.
1. Isolation
Celine Dion - All by myself. There were a huge number of choices for this spot, but nothing quite says isolation like this most self indulgent, feeling sorry for oneself ballad.
2. Confusion
Confusion - The Zutons. If you’re anything like us you’ll have this one on repeat!
3. Pivoting
Travis - Turn. Once we came to an agreement about what "pivoting" actually means, this was a no brainer... the chorus doesn't leave much room for ambiguity.
4. Eureka
KT Tunstall - Suddenly I see. In honour of Archimedes, “Rubber Ducky You're the One” was also a strong contender, but alas there can only be one winner!
5. Happiness
Imagine dragons - I'm on top of the world. The similarly titled (and more grammatically correct) “I'm on the top of the world” by The Carpenters would do equally well.
6. Money
Abba - Money! Money! Money! A terrible cliché? Or would it have been more of a cliché if we had picked something else? You decide!
7. Social Media
Oasis - All around the world. I don’t think there is much explanation needed for this one!
8. Finding your audience
Oliver (the musical )- Consider Yourself. There’s nothing like a good old fashioned spontaneous street sing-along to make you feel accepted.
9. Not selling-out
Bon Jovi - Keep the Faith. Nuff said!
10. Investment
Pet Shop Boys - Opportunists (Lets Make Lots of Money). Fingers crossed !
11. Repeat all of the above
Propellerheads and Shirley Bassey - History repeating. Now return to track 1...
