The Shopify Build a Business Competition

by Startacus Admin
If you’ve got a product that you want to start selling online, then this is the perfect time to do just that.
Why now you may ask?
Well, basically because the eCommerce platform Shopify have just launched their latest Build-A-Business competition and they’ve partnered up with the Huffington Post so it’s even bigger and better than before.
Entering couldn’t be easier. Simply identify the product you’d like to sell, open a Shopify store and then pick a relevant category. Each category has its own pretty inspiring mentor including:
- Fashion & Apparel which has Daymond John, creator of fashion brand FUBU as a mentor
- Electronics & Gadgets which has Tim Ferriss, angel investor and author of the bestseller The 4-Hour Workweek as its mentor
- Jewellery & Crafts which has graphic designer and entrepreneur Tina Roth Eisenberg, best known for her Swissmiss blog and for creating numerous startups as its mentor.
Other categories include Photography & Art, Sports & Recreation, Food & Beverage, Health & Beauty, Music and also the awesomely named ‘Everything Else’ category where the mentor is none other than Arianna Huffington, founder of the Huffington Post.
So why enter?
Well, basically the the nine stores that sell the most over any two month period during the comp will each win a $50,000 cash prize and also a VIP trip to New York to meet with their mentor. As well as that, each winner will receive a complete Shopify POS package, with iPad, allowing them to sell to their customers in-person.
Still need a little persuading? Check out this video and we reckon you’ll be sold!
