The Scottish Edge - Round Five

by Startacus Admin
Startups based in Scotland - take note - it’s back! The ‘it’ in question being the fab Scottish Edge fund.
Now open for a fifth round (my how time flies - we remember the first!), the comp which aims to provide support for young Scottish entrepreneurs and early stage startups is seeking entries once more.
Interested in applying? Here’s the lowdown:
Firstly, you’ve got to be:
-
Based in Scotland or be in the process of relocating there and be hoping to achieve at least £200k growth in sales over the next 3 years
-
All about innovation and ingenuity and be ready to take that business of yours to the next level - exporting is where it’s at, don’t ya know?
-
Established within the last 5 years, have your business bank account in order, have no more than 24 employees at the moment but be in a position where you could employ at least 5 more within the next 3 years
What you’ve got to do…
This bit is straightforward. Simply complete the online application form and submit a video pitch. Then cross those fingers and hope that you’ll be shortlisted to pitch at one of the semi-finals and get selected for the final panel in December 2014!
Why you should…
It’d be so worth it - after all you could win:
- Financial support of up to £50k (or £10k for The Young EDGE)
- A package of business support from RBS
- The support of an experienced business mentor for a full 12 months to help advise and guide you as you implement those business growth plans and get to that next level.
Pretty good then wouldn’t you agree?
If you’re thinking of applying, why not check out some of the articles from one of the previous winners, Cally Russell from Mallzee - on everything from his innovative app through to pivots and making mistakes - words of wisdom indeed.
