The Santander 60 Second Pitch Awards

by Startacus Admin
If you’re a university student or recent grad with an idea for a business, then the recently launched Santander 60 Second Pitch Awards would be well worth a look.
The awards have just reopened for 2015 and are intended to provide budding entrepreneurs - people just like you in fact, with the opportunity to win up to £1500 as well as that all important support and advice from the Santander folk themselves.
Interested in applying?
Here’s what you’ve got to do:
Record and upload a 60 second video pitch outlining your business, concept or idea. Remember though - you’ve only got one minute to sell your idea so if it’s going to stand out, your pitch should be creative, funny or innovative. Your video should be submitted before the closing date of 23rd April.
The Santander Universities team will initially select 20 entries and then score them until they’re left with a shortlisted top 10 applications. Those 10 applications will then be uploaded to the competition site and the public can then vote for their fave. The winner will then be decided by a combination of the public vote and the judges’ scoring.
There are 3 prizes up for grabs:
1st - £1500
2nd - £1000
3rd - £500
The overall winner will also avail of business support and advice directly from Santander - an invaluable prize in itself!
The winners will be announced on 29th May - some two days after the public vote closes. Best of luck to any of you who enter - we’ll be rooting for ya!
Fear not though if you’re not quite at the stage where you could pitch an idea - the awards will reopen again in the Summer (1st June) and in the Autumn (1st October), so you’ve plenty of time to get those thinking caps on and come up with an innovative idea or two…
