The Northern Soho Award for Collaboration

by Startacus Admin
Our Manchester startup month is now well and truly under way and one thing is becoming abundantly clear- the people of Manchester and indeed the North West as a whole are fiercely proud of their individuality, creativity, drive and general Self Starter spirit (which just happen to be all of the things we love here at Startacus).
Northern Soho is one rather fab demonstration of this.
It is a North West community of creatives, artists, designers, web developers, photographers and anyone interested in collaboration which places at its heart the celebration and nourishment of the region's creative industries. They believe that the North West has a wealth of distinctive and valuable creative propositions and take a proactive approach to bring like minded folks together to strengthen and develop the region's reputation as a centre creative excellence.
To this end they have recently launched the Northern Soho Award for Collaboration which they hope will not only reward those folks who embody the principles upon which Northern Soho was found, but also spread the message far and wide that the North West’s powerhouse of creativity, innovation and passion is well and truly roaring.
Who are Northern Soho looking for?
They are seeking out people who will be able to demonstrate, through a project that they have been involved in, the tangible results which can be achieved through creative collaboration
As you have probably noticed there is a high level of geographical specificity to the awards, and so it will come as no surprise that entries will only be accepted from those within the North West Region (unless of course they form part of a collaborative regional entry).
How do you enter the award?
In a rather refreshing move there are 5 different ways to enter, each offering the opportunity to show off different aspects of your collaborative efforts and high level of creative talent that exists in the North of England. First off though, you will need to complete the registration form.
After you have completed the form, you can choose between ;
- Video, animation or audio composition up to 3 minutes in length
- PowerPoint presentation of up to 10 slides
- A piece of writing of up to 500 words
- A storyboard or poster of up to 4 pages of A4 or one sheet of A2
The closing date for entries is the 12th September and the winner will be announced at the Fresh PR Awards Dinner in Manchester's Iconic Deansgate Hilton. Take a little trip over to the Northern Soho Award for Collaboration page for some of the finer details.
