The NatWest UK Fashion and Textile Awards 2013

by Startacus Admin
As you’d expect for an industry focused on creativity and turning heads, when the Fashion industry does something, it does it a tad differently.
That ‘something’ we’re referring to today is the launch of the UK Fashion and Textile Association (UKFT) awards. Not for them a simple press release or newspaper ad, no - the UKFT launched by having an impromptu Flash Mob Fashion Show at London’s St Pancras station! Bemused commuters were treated to a short 4 minute fashion show featuring designs by some of the UK’s leading young up and coming designers, all in aid of promoting the Awards event which is due to be held in May of this year.
The NatWest UK Fashion and Textile Awards 2013 aim to recognise the good and the great in the British fashion industry with awards on the night for Designer Business of the Year, Accessories Business of the Year and Retailer of the Year amongst others.
The good news though is that if you yourself happen to be a young fashion designer or startup, you too could have a place in the Awards evening.
The UKFT Rise Newcomer Award aims to provide some recognition and a little boost for the next generation of the Fashion industry.
Provided you have been trading for less than 3 years, are under 35 years old, you can enter.
The judges will obviously be looking for creative flair but just as importantly clear evidence of your future plans and strategies.
Interested? Enter now at www.ukftawards.org - the closing date for entries is 8 March 2013.
Best of luck to any of you fashionistas who apply!
