The MeWe360 incubator

by Startacus Admin
Here at Startacus we’re firmly of the opinion that if something sets out to help nurture and develop creative talent, it’s bound to be a good thing. And we’re usually right...In this case the ‘good thing’ we’re referring to is the recently launched MeWe360 incubator.
The incubator which launched with a £2 million investment aims to provide financial support of up to £250,000 for startups that can demonstrate real commercial potential.
The interesting thing though is where that investment is coming from - it has come from quite a unique financial collaboration between the private and public sectors. Social entrepreneur Kevin Osborne, Arts Council England, Ingenious Media, the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and the McKenna Charitable Trust have all played their part in getting this innovative incubator off the ground.
So who can apply?
Well, there is currently an open call out for entrepreneurs, artists, designers and others from across the creative and digital industries.
Those fortunate enough to be selected will not only receive the aforementioned financial support, but also a whole host of other benefits - from dedicated mentoring and consultancy through to networking and collaboration opportunities.
At a time when the more traditional lenders aren’t exactly bending over backwards to support enterprising startups, initiatives like this one ought to be welcomed with open arms.
No matter where you are in the UK, if you’ve got an idea or a startup business that you feel could have real commercial promise within the creative industries sector, don’t waste this opportunity. Get on the case now and get in touch with the MeWe360 team. Also, if you need help to incubate 'that idea, check out the Startacus virtual workspace to help put your idea all together!
