The League of Pragmatic Optimists

by Startacus Admin
The League of Pragmatic Optimists or LOPO as it’s perhaps better known is a group of Do-ers who in essence want to make the world a better place.
LOPO meetings are held in various cities all across the world where people can come together, connect, collaborate, generate ideas and projects, and get a much needed dose of inspiration and positivity.
Sounds good don’t you think? As do these - LOPO’s 8 Principles:
- Have an unashamed optimism of ambition
- Involve yourself in projects that are bigger than you
- Engineer serendipity
- You are what you do, not what you intend to do
- Making mistakes is OK, but not trying is irresponsible
- Commit to evidence – also known as ‘Think like an engineer, not like a politician’
- You will lose a lot (in the beginning) – also know as ‘Play the long game’
- Police your own cynicism
Check out the LOPO site for more info including where your nearest chapter is. In fact, if there’s not one near you, you can contact the LOPO folk directly and set one up.

We love what these guys are doing. With their ‘ideas worth doing’ philosophy, they’re folk after our own heart…
