The Handmade Fair

by Startacus Admin
Whereas just a few years ago, Kirstie Allsopp was known primarily for her tv shows where she helped buyers find their ideal homes, this has now been somewhat overshadowed by her seemingly all-consuming passion for crafts, vintage and all things handmade. Whether it’s upcycling or candle making, her enthusiasm is admittedly pretty infectious.
So then...we’ve had the shows, we’ve had the books and now, Kirstie is going one step further - she’s moved into events - well one event in particular.
The Handmade Fair is an event set to take place in the gardens of Hampton Court Palace in September this year and if you’re the crafty sort, we reckon you’ll love it.
It’s being billed as the first craft event to put learning and making crafts at its core and will have everything from hands on workshops through to Super Theatre sessions which will see some of the UK’s most inspiring craft experts talking with Kirstie about their skills, own inspirations and experiences.
It’s not just about the experts showcasing what they’re about though. If you’ve got a craft related business - if, for example, you sell craft tools or kits or even finished products, you could get involved by exhibiting - and with an anticipated 12000 visitors expected, you’d be a fool not to!
If you’re interested in exhibiting, you can apply now via the Handmade Fair site, where full details on costs etc can also be found.
We expect there’ll be lots more publicity about this event over the coming months but we thought we’d give all you crafty Startacus members a little heads up. Good luck any of you who apply to exhibit!
