The Guardian Sustainable Business Awards

The Guardian Sustainable Business Awards
Sometimes it’s easy to think that the only way you can be innovative and make an impact is to go it alone and start your own thing.
However, as with our recent post on collaboration where we highlighted that innovation can be born internally from big businesses just as much as from individuals wanting to create the ‘next big thing’, we thought it only fair to highlight the Guardian Sustainable Business Awards for 2013.
The Guardian Sustainable Business Awards reward innovation and impact in helping to build sustainability into business. Ranging from awards for innovation in water, energy, and the environment through to society, work and collaboration, these awards recognise the internal changes and struggles made to make a real impact to the way things are done and the impact it can have. Sometimes that may mean being a disconcerting voice in a big company to change the way things are done, or a one man band who comes up with a new way of thinking or doing.
Both big business and small startups can face up to these challenges, and while the scale of the challenges may vary, these awards reward the changes that have ultimately made a sustainable difference going forward.
Now in its’ third year these awards are now open to application and with a closing date of 8th Feb 2013, you still have plenty of time to get that application in, if you feel you are a self starter building sustainability into your business.
You can find out more about the awards and all the small print via the Guardian Sustainable Business Awards home page, but we wish all the entries well and hope to report back on who the respective winners are in a few months’ time.
