The Data City - the startup for the decision makers

The lowdown on Leeds-based data, analytics and cybersecurity startup The Data City, which has data provision at its core...

They have earned these things by providing central and local government with the insight on organisations across the UK that they need in order to inform economic policy decisions. The Data City is using data and web-intelligence to reduce the time wasted, money spent, and duplication of effort in evaluating and designing interventions. They use machines to do the heavy lifting and then give this intelligence to the decision-makers and impact-measurers. They say that they are also aiming to be ‘radically’ open with their findings, to share as much innovation and value possible.
Instead of paying a consultant to collect the data you need and provide a report, The Data City provides the data as an always-on service, which is published into the public domain monthly. The public - those with a subscription, that is - is then free to use this data however they need. This bypasses the data collection stage, speeds up the report generation process, and means you have access not only to the report conclusions but also to the raw data.
We won’t be surprised to see The Data City at the Rising Stars final on 6 March, and we wish them luck (and everyone else, because we’re nice like that)!
