The BITC Responsible Small Business Award

by Startacus Admin
If you’re a startup or small business that puts corporate social responsibility high on your agenda, then Business in the Community’s Responsible Business Awards are well worth a look.
The Santander Responsible Small Business Award provides a fab opportunity for UK based small businesses to showcase what they’re about and get some well deserved recognition for how they have integrated social responsibility into the core of all that they do.
All independent trading companies are eligible to enter provided of course that they meet the stipulated criteria on size restrictions and annual turnover. Entrants must be able to demonstrate clearly both their business model and the positive impact that they are having or planning to have in the long term in each of the following four areas:
- Community - how the business supports, recruits from, trades with and engages with local communities with greatest need
- Environment - how the business aims to improve its environmental impact
- Marketplace - how the business develops its products, works with suppliers and markets to its customers
- Workplace - how the business invests in the diversity, skills and well-being of its employees
This comp is an invaluable opportunity to not only raise the profile of what your small business is doing but also to validate your work to everyone - from customers to suppliers. Winners also receive additional training and bespoke industry expert advice and feedback to further develop their responsible business activities. Pretty worthwhile wouldn’t you agree?
If you’re interested in entering, then you’ve got until Friday 13th February to do so. Simply register on the BITC site, download and complete the application form and then cross those fingers!
Best of luck to any of you who do. We’ll be rooting for ya!
