The Belfast Raise Perks the Interest of Startups and Investors Alike

by Startacus Admin

Hosted in association with the Northern Ireland Startup Forum and Transmit Startups, a new startup event The Belfast Raise aims to pair startup companies with investors and advisors seeking business opportunities.
From early-stage startups to scaleups seeking further rapid growth, the 2nd November event will aim to feature five 15 minute funding pitches and five short and snappy intros from early stage startups looking for initial pitch advice and feedback on their concept to date.
Organiser Martin Neill, Founder and CEO of AirPOS Ltd explained why the event had come to frution:
“We are looking forward to bringing together some of Northern Ireland’s most promising startups and fast growing companies to present them to the investment community. Our aim is to create a an environment that allows all parties to engage directly.
We know that investors want to get to know the founders, see under the bonnet of the businesses and make a decision of how they can add value. This is generally investment of funds but often experience, expertise and introductions are equally if not more valuable. We also appreciate the importance of discretion which is why all contact will be done directly between investors or their advisors and the businesses."
Martin's own business AirPOS, the UK’s only ePOS and ecommerce software creator, alongside Performa Sports, a leading sports analytics software maker, are two scaleups who will pitch, with startups, Hurree.co, (We recently featured Hurree on Startacus), Continual.ly, and Saunter also pitching for an estimated 15 minutes. A number of short intro's by a number of early stage startups will also be made.
So far, The Belfast Raise have 40+ active investors registered to attend the inaugral 2nd November event and we look forward to attending ourselves to hopefully see connections made and new partnerships created.
