TestGorilla - innovative screening tests to help you hire the best

by Startacus Admin
TestGorilla is a startup that's on a mission to help you identify the best candidates and make your hiring decisions faster, easier, and bias-free
We have written numerous times about recruitment because it is an area prime for disruption. One of the most recent examples is Swyg, a startup taking the assumptions and unconscious biases out of the recruitment process. This is a much needed thing in recruitment, as making snap judgements and assumptions based on very little is something that we as humans are very good at.
Doing so, of course, means that we can miss out on some of the best talent for the most inane reasons, and those people go on - if they’re lucky - to work instead for our competitors. In this day and age, we know better to make such assumptions and to hold biases, but that’s easier said than done, so anything to help keep these out of the process is welcome.
Enter Amsterdam-based HR tech startup TestGorilla. Their platform screens candidates to identify the best via tests designed specifically for the role that you are hiring for, evaluating them on role-specific knowledge and skills, as well as more general skills in other tests that you can add to the queue delivered to the applicants.
The platform holds 135 scientifically-validated tests to ensure that candidates are hired through data-driven choices. Once these tests are completed, you receive the list of top candidates and their scores. You don’t need to base your decision only on this, however, as you can take a deeper dive into those candidates that stand out the most, inviting them to take personality tests or to make a video response to specific questions.
In July, TestGorilla announced that they had raised €8.4 million in a seed round led by London-based VC Notion Capital, with participation from Partech, Next Play Ventures, and a group of HR tech entrepreneurs. This funding will be used for expansion and growth, as well as increasing the size of its test library to cover many more job roles.
