ten80 - the world's first global marketplace for SAP contractors and clients

The lowdown on ten80, the innovative digital platform that enables SAP clients to connect with SAP experts globally...
If you are in the middle of London or New York or Tokyo, finding the right people to work on your project might not be such a big problem. In fact whittling down the candidates may be the tricky part now that a global recession looks evermore likely. But outside of hubs such as these, it can be harder to find the right person who just happens to live nearby, or is willing to travel to you, and is looking for work.
Naturally, of course, this is how businesses work, but what about when it comes to something more specialised, with fewer experts than the average position?
Hampshire-based startup ten80 is a platform that connects businesses with a pool of expert SAP consultants, who sign up for free and then provide validation in the form of qualifications and past client feedback.
Similar to freelance-based project marketplaces like Freelancer or Upwork, clients will create a job on the site - called a ticket - for a specific need, and it goes live on the marketplace. Unlike those sites, where anyone can bid, the site will match the job to contractors with the relevant skills, and then only those will be a part of the bidding process.
This is an improved system over a free-for-all, which negatively affects everyone - the people who actually have the skill and experience miss out because they were undercut; the person who actually gets the job gets paid too little because they just wanted to do said undercutting; and the client gets lower quality work because the lowest bidding freelancer doesn’t actually have the necessary skills to do a good or even complete job. This issue is eliminated, at least to a high degree, by simply having only those qualified for a job be able to bid.
Already working with clients such as OKI, SAP, Walkmart, Massmart, and more, ten80 has over 150,000 consultants already on the site - 47,000 of which they say are in the top 20% of SAP contractors.
Recently, the startup announced a £500,000 investment from Seneca Investment Partners. They have already used this funding to increase their staff from 2 to 11, with a goal of reaching 40 by the end of the year (also a casual $1bn valuation within 3 years).
