Techstars London welcomes Saalim Chowdhury as its new Managing Director

Saalim Chowdhury joins the Techstars London team and will lead the growth and expansion of its startup accelerator.
Good news for the Techstars team with the announcement that Saalim Chowdhury has been appointed as Managing Director of Techstars London.
Formerly a Partner at 500 Startups, Chowdhury will take over from predecessor Eamonn Carey and will be responsible for leading the growth of the startup accelerator in London, as it expands to two programmes a year, in April and September. Techstars London will also open to startups across new sectors, including more b2b startups in healthtech, fintech and web3, and using technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Techstars London is looking for early-stage founders who would benefit from a programme that develops entrepreneurial talent, accelerates startup growth, and also gets them closer to product-market fit. Although the programme is London-based, Chowdhury plans to attract startups from throughout the UK and will be touring the country to do so.
Saalim Chowdhury explains, “I want to work with founders that are creating services for new audiences, or changing the way convention has been dictated for years, mostly by bringing perspectives from one industry to another. There must also be a positive impact on society. The goal is to create stronger startups from a more diverse range of backgrounds. I’m delighted to lead this growth from London, as Techstars doubles down in the UK”
Chowdhury will use his many years of experience developing founders and startup teams to identify and empower emerging talent. He is an advocate for being open about mental health and active in supporting minority founders. Chowdhury added, “As a minority entrepreneur, I know first hand of the challenges of raising capital when you aren't the default funds look for. I'm excited to share my learnings and playbooks with the next generation.”
If you'd like to participate in the next cohort of Techstars London, apply before February 10th for the chance to do just that! Best of luck to all who apply!
