Taking inspiration from Byte Night

by
Inspiring others is a key aspiration for Startacus. And whether it was by chance or fate, we are glad that we stumbled across Action for Children’s “Byte Night” promotion stand at a recent event.
So we thought we would let you all know about it too - perhaps you can share a tweet or two about the event - in fact perhaps you could spare a night of your own time to raise money, or even donate a few bob.
Basically “Byte Night” has been happening for the last 15 years and consists of IT, Business and Startup Professionals spending a night exposed to the elements in a bid to raise sponsorship and awareness of Action for Children’s work to prevent youth homelessness.
Now whether you are a beginner self starter or a startup wizard, the philosophy of making things better, probably rings true with many of us, and may be one of the fundamental reasons why you want to do your own thing.
Since 1998, Byte Night has raised an impressive £4.3 Million, and in a bid to help spread the word, we promised as soon as we heard about it that we would do our bit to help promote and highlight this worthy cause...
The 2012 Byte Night happens in Cambridge, London, Reading, Edinburgh, and this year for the 1st time in Belfast.
Action for Children is a worthy UK based charity, who like many charities have found their government funding squeezed over the last few years, and without getting all political on ya, the work that they do in providing support to families and children can really make all the difference.
If you so wish, (after all Startacus ain't no Dictator!) here are a few of the ways you can get involved...and we wish the Action for Children team all the best with this worthy cause.
Get involved and get your buttski down to one of the sleep-overs
