TableCrowd

With 1000’s of hosted dinners, 1,000s of diners and an estimated 300,000 opportunities for people to meet, created, TableCrowd are now looking to further expand their online and offline social network by raising £400k via leading crowdfunding site Crowdcube.

Startacus (that's us) love a good chit-chat. Startacus also loves a good feed. But, team Startacus admittedly struggles with the formalities and awkwardness that traditional business networking events can offer - the suited and booted type business event is admittedly often not our thing.

If only we could go to meaningful, informal and valuable social / business events...

Take a bow, long term Startacus supporters and friend, TableCrowd, a real life business network that brings people and business peers together over food and drink.

TableCrowd not only offers 1/ decent food 2/ a qualified, themed and relevant guest speaker 3/ an informal setting, but also 4/ the chance to chat and eat informally with both your fellow diners, and the guest speaker themselves.

TableCrowd

TableCrowd run dinner events where networking adds real worth to your network, not just an opportunity to make idle small talk, and to swap business cards, for a future e-shot or sales call.

Since launching a few years ago, TableCrowd has added real value to the London Startup scene, and in Kate Jackson, co-founder and Claire Jenkins COO and chief host, they have a management team that embodies the entrepreneurial spirit, informality, but professionalism that their diner events aim to encapsulate.

This year alone, Kate and the TableCrowd team have welcomed high level executives and founders from the likes of Google, Happn, Airbnb, Chilango and Monzo, through to venture capitalists, journalists, Olympians and Government ministers to speak at their networking dinners. The relaxed format encouraging meaningful conversations, promotes sharing and provides the right environment to build relationships.

Business relationships and deals have been done off the back of their network and audience.

Now, via Crowdcube, TableCrowd are looking to raise £400,000 for 10.81% equity.

So far with the TableCrowd campaign only launching last Friday, they have already reached 22% of their target, raising £91k plus and with (currently at time of publishing) 24 days to go raise the full 400k or more.

TableCrowd want more people to experience effective and enjoyable networking, so the next step is to take the concept to key cities internationally. They have members from all around the world already and have regular requests wanting to take TableCrowd to their city.

They are also currently building an app which not only gives people access to their dinners but which also offers a quick and convenient way to secure a one on one meeting with their members. It will add control and purpose back into building your network – something that they believe is lacking.

With bold ambitions to grow and scale TableCrowd - raising equity investment from both their members and from the crowd on Crowdcube, seems like the next natural step for their social business that at it's heart puts the net worth back into networking. We look forward to watching as their £400k crowdfunding target gets closer.

Good luck Kate, Claire and all the TableCrowd team and we look forward to reporting back with good news in a few weeks time.

We also reckon you should take a watch over their crowdfunding pitch video - it explains everything a little better than we can!
