Students! Graduates! Do you want £10k for your business?

by Startacus Admin
Cool - thought that would get your attention! And no panic, no long essay required here - we’re getting straight to the point with this student / grad targeted business comp.
The Varsity Pitch Competition is a UK based pitching competition for student and graduate entrepreneurs. There are seven categories to choose from and the seven industry winners will come together to pitch (as the name of the competition suggests) for the £10k cash prize. Hooray!
The annual Varsity Pitch Competition is run by NACUE (the National Association of College and University Entrepreneurs) and is open to any current college or university student or graduate from the past five years with a business idea or a current business. There’s only a few core things you’ll need to do to apply:
-
Get a good idea and plan together
-
Work out which award would best fit your idea (Creative Industries, Green Business, College Business Accelerator, Apps & Online, FInancial Technology, Product Design, or Disruptive Business category)
-
Film a 60 second video of you pitching your idea
-
Upload this video to YouTube by October 14th 2013
-
Fill out the application form at www.varsitypitchcompetition.com/enter-now
As per every competition we’ve ever highlighted, there are certain terms & conditions so of course make sure you check out the details and rules before you apply (Yes Sir!). And as per pretty much all competitions there is some mentoring / one to one’s / bootcamp style support for all the finalists to help you get prepared for the big pitch.
A few important dates to bear in in mind as well:
-
Entries must be in by 14th October
-
Category semi finals w/c 28th October
-
Bootcamp 8th November
-
Grand Pitching final 22nd November
But the most important thing to say is get thinking, get filming, get applying and a big Startacus good luck to you all!
