Sticky - the no-code operating platform for physical spaces

by Startacus Admin
The lowdown on Manchester-based startup Sticky and its innovative no-code solution to help businesses turn any physical space into an engagement opportunity.
Convenience is perhaps an underestimated thing. In a world where we can sit down in our homes and be watching the latest blockbuster a minute later without even opening a box or putting a disc in anything, or a few minutes at a computer will result in our big weekly shop arriving on our doorstep the next day, convenience is key for any business. By offering convenient solutions such as streamlined purchasing processes and quick service, businesses can attract and retain customers, saving them time and effort, and enhancing their overall experience and satisfaction. Expectation may not always be fair to a business, but those who can keep up with it and provide or exceed the expected convenience to a customer is sure to leave their competitors in the dust.
Manchester-based tech startup Sticky understands this, and has created a great low-code solution that can be implemented by all kinds of businesses. The startup allows a business to turn any part of their physical space into a point of sale through the use of special NFC stickers - stickies. Customers simply tap the sticky and within 10 seconds, their order or donation or whatever it happens to be is complete. This enhances that all-important convenience and efficiency, eliminating much of the need for traditional checkouts and bypassing queues, resulting in faster transactions and improved customer satisfaction. These stickies also foster seamless integration of offline experiences with familiar online ones, enabling businesses to bridge the gap between their physical and digital presence.
For the customer, whether it’s placing an order from your restaurant table, buying tickets for a theme park ride, or donating to a charity, Sticky allows the process to be fast and easy. For the business, Sticky can provide valuable data insights, allowing retailers to track customer behaviour, preferences, and purchase patterns, allowing for better customer engagement and data-driven decision-making.
Sticky has already been recognised in awards including Smart Retail Tech 2022 Technology of the Year, 2023 Northern Star Innovation Award, and 2023 Northern Tech Awards, and now they have secured £1.5 million in funding! The seed round was led by Praetura Ventures, with participation from Cornerstone VC, SFC Capital, and angel investors. This funding will help the startup’s bid to become the go-to solution for businesses across numerous sectors to increase revenue from their physical spaces.
