Startup of the Week - Yumpingo

by Startacus Admin
Yumpingo - The startup that's using big data analytics and machine learning to empower business owners in the hospitality sector...

Of course the key thing is to get this info when it is relevant - timing is of the essence. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the hospitality sector. A retrospective online review from a disappointed customer is valuable, however would be of much greater value to a business if it was provided in real time.
That is exactly what our latest startup of the week is aiming to do.
Yumpingo is a “food intelligence™ platform” which is on a mission to introduce big data analytics to the hospitality industry.
The platform enables restaurateurs to get customer feedback on all aspects of the service they provide - from their opinions on a particular dish through to their impressions of the waiting staff. Customers can use Yumpingo devices to complete short reviews at the end of a meal, thereby capturing their immediate impressions. Yumpingo then applies machine learning to analyse these reviews and provide detailed analysis and insight on a monthly basis. This data can then of course be used to help a restaurateur make improvements wherever necessary. It can help with everything from the development of a menu through to how staff engage with customers - in essence therefore those critical business decisions.
Yumpingo is using data to empower business owners within the hospitality sector in a way that standard review sites never could.
We love what they’re doing and with a client list that currently includes Wagamama, Bill’s and Wahaca, it looks like we are not the only ones!
