Startup of the Week - YourInterest

by Startacus Admin
Whilst it’s all well and good having lots of friends on Facebook and followers on Twitter, generally speaking they’re a diverse bunch - often with very different interests and passions to your own. Our latest Startup of the Week however is on a mission to ensure that your online social network contacts are people that do have similar interests to you and who you could connect with in real life - in the offline world.
YourInterest is a social networking platform which matches people with like-minded interests and helps them connect through real life events.
Users of the site can sign up and discover events and communities with shared interests in their area. It enables people to make contacts and connections with like-minded people that they may otherwise never have met.
Event organisers can use the platform to not only promote and manage their events but also ensure that they build an engaged interested audience in advance of an event taking place. What is particularly good about YourInterest is the fact that organisers can engage with event attendees and research opinions and views before events actually take place. Whilst post event feedback is entirely possible and of course has its value, it’s still pretty fab to be able to gauge interest and react accordingly beforehand and thereby increase the chances of your event’s success.
Event goers and organisers alike will both get real value from using the YourInterest platform so whichever one of those camps you fall into, we reckon you should give it a try.
We like it.
Lots.
