Startup of the Week - Wokamon

by Startacus Admin
Let’s face it - many of us sometimes need a little extra motivation when it comes to keeping fit or working out. You know what it’s like - you’ve been working hard all day and the thought of a going for a walk might be the last thing you fancy doing. Incorporating a little fun into your daily fitness routine always helps though and that’s exactly what our latest Startup of the Week is aiming to do.
Wokamon is a mashup app which combines the functionality of a pedometer and a virtual pet.
You can use the app to track all your activity throughout the day and every calorie that you burn helps to feed and nourish your little virtual buddy! The more active you are...the more your pet grows. Simples!
Wokamon also links to many other fitness tracking apps such as Fitbit, so it can be added pretty seamlessly into how you monitor your daily fitness activities.
Admittedly this app relies somewhat on the guilty feelings that you might develop if you start to neglect your virtual pet by being a little lax on the keeping fit front. After all...a virtual life depends on you getting off that couch and getting out there and doing something!
That though is no bad thing is it?
Your little buddy benefits and you do too!
Check out the short video below that’ll give you a little insight into what it’s all about…
