Startup of the Week - Vroomo

by Startacus Admin
If you're planning to buy a new car soon, you may be already dreading the prospect - particularly if said new car will be new to you but to all intents and purposes is a used model!
Apart from all the places you'll be looking at - from classified ads in the paper to back street garages, there are also countless issues with knowing exactly what you are buying. Is the car worth the money the seller is asking? Is it a genuine or legitimate buy. Or are you in danger of throwing good money away?
Well...thanks to our latest Startup of the Week, buying (or indeed selling) a used car has just become a whole lot easier.Vroomo is a new platform which is on a mission to shake up the UK’s used car market.
Forget the stereotype of the dodgy car salesman or the trip to a neighbouring town to look at a car which is not at all how its seller has described in their ad. With Vroomo the entire process is straightforward and dare we say enjoyable!
Here’s how it works:
Car sellers firstly provide Vroomo with some basic details of the car they’re selling and they get an immediate private price for the vehicle. However, an independent and certified inspector is then sent to inspect the car. The inspector will actually undertake a full 240 point check of the vehicle and ensure it has a clean history. The finalised price is then provided to the seller and the car then can be sold via the platform.
As a buyer, you've therefore got the security of knowing that the car you're buying has been thoroughly checked and is worth the money you’re paying.
Not only that - you won't even have to travel to see the vehicle - the Vroomo folk will deliver it right to your door. And in case you're concerned you won't like it when you get behind the wheel, they throw in a 7 day test drive. Yep! You can return it for a full refund within 7 days should it prove not to be the car of your dreams!
Vroomo even look after all the paperwork and transfer of ownership documentation too - they've got it all covered!
It’s still early days for this startup but we reckon they’re one to watch. (watch their video below!) They’ve got ambitious aims to revolutionise a sector which let's face it could certainly do with some shaking up!
We'll be following their progress with interest!
