Startup of the Week - Velco

by Startacus Admin
As we all know, Cycling has seen a massive growth in popularity in recent years. If you take a look around any of our towns or cities on any given day, it’s immediately apparent.
That of course can only be a good thing - both for our health as well as the environment.
It’s also a pretty good thing for any startups seeking to innovate within the growing cycling sector - startups like our latest Startup of the Week for instance…
Velco is an innovative IoT startup which creates tech solutions for bikers.
Their first creation? The Wink - a handlebar which can connect directly with a smartphone.
Thanks to its wireless bluetooth functionality and built-in lights, the Wink offers a whole heap of useful features for cyclists. Those features include its:
Intuitive Guidance System
- You can plan your trip on your smartphone and then the small lights on the handlebar will provide you with the directions to follow
Geolocation technology
- Should your bike unfortunately be stolen, the inbuilt tracking technology will help police to locate it
Intelligent Lighting System
- The integrated lights on the handlebar will help ensure that you are always visible and thereby help make your journey a safer one
Pretty impressive, wouldn’t you agree?
The Wink Bar is set to launch later this year and we can’t wait to see it for ourselves.
In the interim, why not check out the short video below which will give you a little more insight into what it’s all about…
