As we all know, Cycling has seen a massive growth in popularity in recent years. If you take a look around any of our towns or cities on any given day, it’s immediately apparent.
That of course can only be a good thing - both for our health as well as the environment.
It’s also a pretty good thing for any startups seeking to innovate within the growing cycling sector - startups like our latest Startup of the Week for instance…
Velco is an innovative IoT startup which creates tech solutions for bikers.
Their first creation? The Wink - a handlebar which can connect directly with a smartphone.
Thanks to its wireless bluetooth functionality and built-in lights, the Wink offers a whole heap of useful features for cyclists. Those features include its:
Intuitive Guidance System
- You can plan your trip on your smartphone and then the small lights on the handlebar will provide you with the directions to follow
Geolocation technology
- Should your bike unfortunately be stolen, the inbuilt tracking technology will help police to locate it
Intelligent Lighting System
- The integrated lights on the handlebar will help ensure that you are always visible and thereby help make your journey a safer one
Pretty impressive, wouldn’t you agree?
The Wink Bar is set to launch later this year and we can’t wait to see it for ourselves.
