Startup of the Week - Unmind

With more and more people experiencing mental health problems, it’s become increasingly important for employers to recognise the importance of good mental health and wellbeing within the workplace.
Of course, it’s not just something to simply pay lip service to – employers need to be proactive and committed to supporting their staff and protecting their mental wellbeing in every way possible. And doing just that has become a whole lot easier thanks to our latest startup of the week.
Unmind is a B2B mental health platform to help both employees and organisations to become healthier and happier.
The Unmind team have collaborated with some of the world’s leading psychologists, behavioural experts and neuroscientists to develop the platform and its integral package of programmes and tools.
The platform’s programmes include a host of sessions which help employees improve all aspects of their mental wellbeing – on subjects as varied as managing stress in the workplace through to getting better quality sleep.
What is particularly good is the fact that all the sessions are “bite size” and have been designed specifically to fit into busy schedules. They are there to support, not to add to already challenging workloads.
In addition to these sessions, Unmind also contains a toolbox which employees can access whenever they feel the need. This has been designed to include a range of useful resources - everything from breathing techniques and exercises through to info on any Employee Assistance Programmes which may be available.
As well as providing this fab range of programmes and tools for employees, Unmind also provides employers with access to anonymous aggregated data about their company, thereby enabling them to identify any particular trends or areas of concern or indeed particular success. It therefore provides them with a real insight into the effectiveness of the platform on the wellbeing of their employees.
Likewise, employees can avail of the private mood tracker to identify any trends or recurring issues and ultimately improve their own self awareness.
In our view, Unmind is not only providing a useful resource for employee and employer - it is providing an absolutely essential one.
