Startup of the Week - unii

by Startacus Admin
Remember those carefree days at uni when everything seemed so much simpler? Being away from home for the first time and the freedom that meant and all that subsequently entailed…(*ahem*)Of course if you were at uni before social networks really took off, what you got up to might have become the stuff of legend on campus, but wasn’t something that your nearest and dearest may have ever found out about. Then along came Zuckerberg and all of a sudden things changed. The world and his mother (and probably your own mother too) knew what you were up to before you did!
Well the good old days could be back, thanks to our latest Startup of the Week.
unii is a social network with a difference - it’s aimed exclusively at students. It’s aiming to become the online social hub of choice for all UK university and college students. Of course it’s not just about sharing gossip and posting embarrassing pics - it’s got real worthwhile value too.
There are accommodation boards, job boards and all sorts of ways for you to connect with people at your university - from groups and societies through to students in your year who are undertaking other courses. Whether you are looking for a new housemate or someone to make up your 5-a-side team, it’s all possible thanks to this dedicated hub.
We know that the other social networks are more than likely here to stay, but we reckon that there’s definitely room for the niche type networks too.
Gotta love unii’s strapline too - “What happens at uni, stays at unii…”
